As I mentioned in my last blog of Integrative Seminar that was Integrative Seminar (week 5) that some incidents or person can change our lives drastically and introduced some of the occurrences with some quotes associated to them. In week 6, we were told to describe ourselves in 500 words. So I have to choose some of them and elaborate on the ones who played an important in my life. I felt like that it was difficult to pick some of them because every incident taught me something important that’s why I have their impression on my mind after a long time too. But according to the word limit, I can’t elaborate all of them. So I chose one which was more significant to me and refined it. When I imagined it, I can feel every moment happened to me at that time every feeling was so strong. So I took past glimpse of it and found it something like this. So the moment was my ’10th trials’, and the quote I associated with it is ‘Success is going from failure to failure without losing enthusiasm’ by Winston Churchill.
My 10th trials:- When life tries to shatter you down, it is to check that do you deserve the success or not. This is what I felt during my journey of 10th standard. A guy with lots of dreams under his eyes just trying to make himself productive and significant. Faced with a slope towards failures and trying to figure out what I can do balance myself in that slope so that, can’t go forward, at least I can stand. Participated in lots of school activities but I did nothing except shivering my confidence. After some time I stopped even trying. But then this rusted wheel got a push from well-wishers. Then I lubricated myself somehow and just studied my past mistakes and found that one of the reasons for my failures is my fear of trying or giving it my best or worry of failures. Then I prepared my mind a night before my next try for my success over myself, and then I got the self-satisfaction when I finally proved myself on the stage. That day I lit up a fire in my eyes to see the opportunities more widely.
So this was the incident which improved me to a great extent, that’s why it’s important to me. So this week was an emotional ride of past for me giving me a strong feeling of nostalgia.

Drawing (week 5)
Different people have a different perspective regarding their environment. Some people like to capture the moment or story around them. They do so to record what they have seen or to tell others in their unique way. So we explored some of the great artist and their work. We saw the travel diaries of some well-known artists like Prashant Miranda, Mario Miranda, Tim Hawkinson, Allen Shaw, and Samir Biswas. We saw how they communicated their surroundings with us. They all have different styles to present their views with their uniqueness. We saw how they perceive things around them. So it’s like a window to us from which we can see how they imagine or perceive things around them.
1) Prashant Miranda:- In his works, we can usually see abstracts or different topics like monuments, buildings, streets, or houses. He usually goes with watercolor.
2) Mario Miranda:- The art piece hee draws are mostly black and white compositions of daily life. In his paintings, he represents people and crowd in a chaotic manner.
3) Allen Shaw:- His arts mainly comprises of main subjects of daily life and his work medium is watercolor. One of the compilations includes the artworks made by the exploration of coffee drops.
4) Sameer Biswas:- He works with line art, and we can also come across his paintings on buildings, monuments or day to day life. All he uses is microns and pens and contains very explicit and detailed works
Imaging (week 5)
How we imagine things is all up to us. We can perceive a thing in various kinds, all of them will be correct but will be different from each other. All of us will imagine differently depending on their perspective, thinking potential, and creativity.
So this was our assignment for week 5. We have to imagine or describe light, breeze, sea, and sky in a formative way using composition. We have to use illustrator for the work. We got some of the references from the internet how we can convert a complex thing into a minimal illustration. Every one of us imagined the same thing in a different and unique way. This assignment thought us about the minimalizing of a complicated thing and to present it as your idea in front of others. It was not only about minimalizing, it was also about creating new ways to present the thing. We explored a lot to find the most aesthetic way of doing it using vectors. So I made a landscape in different layers to show the depth of the scene. It also thought us how to nurture different distances or depths in a 2d vector. So in the landscape, I tried to represent light using the sun, u can see the sky, the windmill indirectly represent breeze, and u can see the sea at the bottom of the landscape. So this was a very direct representation of the four elements but it is minimal.
Integrative Studio (week 5)
A person sometimes shares a similar sense of taste in different things, but a quality of him can outstand. He nearly has something in common that defines all his choices.
If I am a formal kind of person, then you can see that formalness in my life like my sense of dressing, presentation or my work. All of them will have the sense of formalness. But sometimes there can be a situation where I can come out as a loud and casual person. So this shows I am also having some part of casualness in me. But this is obvious that my formal nature will dominate my other characteristics. As you will see my last blog on Integrative Studio blog (week 4). This was a challenge for me to make thing abstract because there was something in common in my every model but there was only one which was outstanding in the queue. So that was challenging for me to make else abstract. They were all symmetric and composite and we needed something random. So that showed that I am very formal, linear, and composite type of person. So I upgraded them to make else more abstract and random.
Integrative Seminar (week 5)
Many of us think that our life is related to fantasy. Some think their life is worth experiencing. Some of us think that their life is going through too much up-downs. So different people describe their life through different situations and aspects of their life.
There are certain things, moments, and people in our life which changed us majorly or help us in our development. So sometimes we also describe our lives relating these things, moments, and people. So our assignment for Integrative Seminar (week 5) is to define ‘Who am I’ using a different way. So it was a tough task for me because it’s hard for me to describe myself.
So I just reviewed my life, and I found some interesting moments in my life that help me in developing myself. And there is a list of quotes and wordings by famous personalities of all time which got related to those incidents of my life.

I will explain some of these in my next blog on Integrative Seminar i.e. Integrative Seminar (week 6)
Space and Materiality (week 5)
Can a product a product be perfect at its first stage? Do product need upgradations at an initial level?
A designer always follows a process to make his design. He never skips a step and comes to a final verdict. There are several motives for creating a design through the process. One of the reasons is to get a better grip on the concept and to explore as much a designer can. More options can make it easy for you to make a fabulous final design by pilling up the elements from different designs. So that’s we did in our space and materiality (week 5) we updated our abstracts of hand postures to make it more meaningful and more abstract. We explored different dimensions of the hand postures and different views of the 2d design so that we can understand its meaning from all side because sometimes a different view of the abstract can change the meaning of the abstract. It’s important to keep updating the sketches at every step so that you can see the difference between your initial and final product. You can then easily see that you have fulfilled all the pits in your design or not. This exploration can make your design more useful for others because at last it’s not about a designers satisfaction it’s about clients satisfaction. A designer should never settle for less if he wants to satisfy his client’s needs. Then we discussed its conversion from 2d abstract to 3d prototype.
Drawing (week 4)
Most of the aesthetic products have symmetry in it. We can also say balance makes a product aesthetic. Products are more about a technical aspect of the design more than aesthetics.
Our challenge was to make a proper proportioned product by just seeing it. Like a live sketch, we have to put the product in front of us and draw it in the notebook as its looking to us. The main problem which I faced is to work with the proportions and its perspective. It was difficult to observe the curvature while I drew it. Product sketches should be proportional because it can change its look and meaning. A productive with the wrong perspective looks abrupt and even not technically sounds right. While drawing it should also be symmetric. The overall thing is product drawing needs a lot of work an improvements and have to pass lots of stages before coming to a final design.
Drawing (week 3)
Light plays an essential role in life. Life without light is impossible, one of the significant functions of light is to provide us with vision. Light grants us with colors also.
What if we exclude colors from life. It will be like a black and white chaos. It will be hard to differentiate between many things. While in 3D things it will be distinguished with the help of light and its concentration at a point. It will be the play of highlights and shadows. Some parts those will have light will be highlighted and some which will be deficient in light will be dark. So this is what we have to do, we have to sketch something with help of charcoal considering the points of highlight and shadows. It is difficult to use the shadows and highlights to sketch a thing. It’s difficult to judge the intermediate parts those are neither well lit nor dark. The curvature is also an issue for beginners like me who don’t know sketching and charcoal medium. That gives us a proper understanding of highlights and shadows and really helpful when you are not using colors or working with a single colored medium. Some complex spaces and curvatures could issue but its fun to do. We also learned about body proportions. Another thing we learned is how to show volume using highlights and shadows. These are some of my work which I practiced
Imaging (week 4)
The process is an important factor in designing and any other profession. The process makes it easy to complete your task efficiently. It gives you a better chance to improve if you do any mistake. It’s a sorted way to do work. Some people find it more difficult to work step by step because it takes time but it’s easy to correct a mistake in a step by step work rather than a direct work. Sometimes it’s impossible to get rid of some mistakes if you do it directly.
Our assignment was to make a minimal illustration using a pen tool and using layers in illustrator for a better understanding of foreground and background and the process of composing an illustration. Firstly it looked too irritating but when I made some mistakes then I realized the importance. So this I found it on google and it looked interesting to me, so thats why i chose it. Interesting colour and composition
Imaging (week 3)
Today’s design is based on some of the concepts which were introduced far back. We are using that principle’s and upgrading them and using them for the sake of the design.
As Gestalt’s theory, many of the designers use this for their design. This concept is updating the design and its perspectives. We learned and worked on the principle of proximity, continuity, closure, and similarity. it gave us a better understanding of Gestalts theory and its application. We have to make a absract form of breeze, sea, sky, and light and demonstrate it using Gestalts theory.
