How we imagine things is all up to us. We can perceive a thing in various kinds, all of them will be correct but will be different from each other. All of us will imagine differently depending on their perspective, thinking potential, and creativity.
So this was our assignment for week 5. We have to imagine or describe light, breeze, sea, and sky in a formative way using composition. We have to use illustrator for the work. We got some of the references from the internet how we can convert a complex thing into a minimal illustration. Every one of us imagined the same thing in a different and unique way. This assignment thought us about the minimalizing of a complicated thing and to present it as your idea in front of others. It was not only about minimalizing, it was also about creating new ways to present the thing. We explored a lot to find the most aesthetic way of doing it using vectors. So I made a landscape in different layers to show the depth of the scene. It also thought us how to nurture different distances or depths in a 2d vector. So in the landscape, I tried to represent light using the sun, u can see the sky, the windmill indirectly represent breeze, and u can see the sea at the bottom of the landscape. So this was a very direct representation of the four elements but it is minimal.

Integrative Studio (week 5)
A person sometimes shares a similar sense of taste in different things, but a quality of him can outstand. He nearly has something in common that defines all his choices.
If I am a formal kind of person, then you can see that formalness in my life like my sense of dressing, presentation or my work. All of them will have the sense of formalness. But sometimes there can be a situation where I can come out as a loud and casual person. So this shows I am also having some part of casualness in me. But this is obvious that my formal nature will dominate my other characteristics. As you will see my last blog on Integrative Studio blog (week 4). This was a challenge for me to make thing abstract because there was something in common in my every model but there was only one which was outstanding in the queue. So that was challenging for me to make else abstract. They were all symmetric and composite and we needed something random. So that showed that I am very formal, linear, and composite type of person. So I upgraded them to make else more abstract and random.
Integrative Seminar (week 5)
Many of us think that our life is related to fantasy. Some think their life is worth experiencing. Some of us think that their life is going through too much up-downs. So different people describe their life through different situations and aspects of their life.
There are certain things, moments, and people in our life which changed us majorly or help us in our development. So sometimes we also describe our lives relating these things, moments, and people. So our assignment for Integrative Seminar (week 5) is to define ‘Who am I’ using a different way. So it was a tough task for me because it’s hard for me to describe myself.
So I just reviewed my life, and I found some interesting moments in my life that help me in developing myself. And there is a list of quotes and wordings by famous personalities of all time which got related to those incidents of my life.

Space and Materiality (week 5)
Can a product a product be perfect at its first stage? Do product need upgradations at an initial level?
A designer always follows a process to make his design. He never skips a step and comes to a final verdict. There are several motives for creating a design through the process. One of the reasons is to get a better grip on the concept and to explore as much a designer can. More options can make it easy for you to make a fabulous final design by pilling up the elements from different designs. So that’s we did in our space and materiality (week 5) we updated our abstracts of hand postures to make it more meaningful and more abstract. We explored different dimensions of the hand postures and different views of the 2d design so that we can understand its meaning from all side because sometimes a different view of the abstract can change the meaning of the abstract. It’s important to keep updating the sketches at every step so that you can see the difference between your initial and final product. You can then easily see that you have fulfilled all the pits in your design or not. This exploration can make your design more useful for others because at last it’s not about a designers satisfaction it’s about clients satisfaction. A designer should never settle for less if he wants to satisfy his client’s needs. Then we discussed its conversion from 2d abstract to 3d prototype.
Drawing (week 4)
Most of the aesthetic products have symmetry in it. We can also say balance makes a product aesthetic. Products are more about a technical aspect of the design more than aesthetics.
Our challenge was to make a proper proportioned product by just seeing it. Like a live sketch, we have to put the product in front of us and draw it in the notebook as its looking to us. The main problem which I faced is to work with the proportions and its perspective. It was difficult to observe the curvature while I drew it. Product sketches should be proportional because it can change its look and meaning. A productive with the wrong perspective looks abrupt and even not technically sounds right. While drawing it should also be symmetric. The overall thing is product drawing needs a lot of work an improvements and have to pass lots of stages before coming to a final design.
Drawing (week 3)
Light plays an essential role in life. Life without light is impossible, one of the significant functions of light is to provide us with vision. Light grants us with colors also.
What if we exclude colors from life. It will be like a black and white chaos. It will be hard to differentiate between many things. While in 3D things it will be distinguished with the help of light and its concentration at a point. It will be the play of highlights and shadows. Some parts those will have light will be highlighted and some which will be deficient in light will be dark. So this is what we have to do, we have to sketch something with help of charcoal considering the points of highlight and shadows. It is difficult to use the shadows and highlights to sketch a thing. It’s difficult to judge the intermediate parts those are neither well lit nor dark. The curvature is also an issue for beginners like me who don’t know sketching and charcoal medium. That gives us a proper understanding of highlights and shadows and really helpful when you are not using colors or working with a single colored medium. Some complex spaces and curvatures could issue but its fun to do. We also learned about body proportions. Another thing we learned is how to show volume using highlights and shadows. These are some of my work which I practiced
Imaging (week 4)
The process is an important factor in designing and any other profession. The process makes it easy to complete your task efficiently. It gives you a better chance to improve if you do any mistake. It’s a sorted way to do work. Some people find it more difficult to work step by step because it takes time but it’s easy to correct a mistake in a step by step work rather than a direct work. Sometimes it’s impossible to get rid of some mistakes if you do it directly.
Our assignment was to make a minimal illustration using a pen tool and using layers in illustrator for a better understanding of foreground and background and the process of composing an illustration. Firstly it looked too irritating but when I made some mistakes then I realized the importance. So this I found it on google and it looked interesting to me, so thats why i chose it. Interesting colour and composition
Imaging (week 3)
Today’s design is based on some of the concepts which were introduced far back. We are using that principle’s and upgrading them and using them for the sake of the design.
As Gestalt’s theory, many of the designers use this for their design. This concept is updating the design and its perspectives. We learned and worked on the principle of proximity, continuity, closure, and similarity. it gave us a better understanding of Gestalts theory and its application. We have to make a absract form of breeze, sea, sky, and light and demonstrate it using Gestalts theory.
Integrative Studio (week 4)
How life change is also directly proportional to the view of oneself towards himself and to its environment.
Our activity is to make the 3D form of the 2D abstract we made in week 3. Please do read the last blog (integrative studio week 3) or you will not understand further. There are so many ways to look at the same thing. A view can change the situation drastically. As we made 3D of that 2D’s then, we realized that there are lot more possibilities to make a single 2D in multiple ways. The meaning was also changing as we were changing the view because it was no more the same vision. And there are so many possibilities to convert a single 2D into 3D because so many 3Ds have the same 2D so vision is also important for a design. What you look is what you perceive so one should see a situation from different views to get a smart solution to it. This is how design works. So some of the 3D solutions I come up with of my 2D metaphors is
1) The heartbeat of the Stethoscope:- stethoscope don’t have its own heartbeat. Its the heartbeat of the living organism. So it’s somehow related to me because I am having a personality that I can’t make decisions properly, kind of confused type of person. So some of the decisions are not it’s the thought of other person, then polished, twisted and presented by me in my voice. So this model and drawing are showing crossing of so many suggestions and thoughts then coming up to a point by mixing of two thoughts, like upgrading them and the curved lines are showing the twists in the decisions it will not be too direct.
2) Sarcasm of the news:- news nowadays is more sarcastic than to be on target they just not highlight the main topic instead of that they will highlight some gossip of the month, not even of the day. They will not give importance to a worthy news. I am a bit like this only sometimes I just don’t highlight the topic instead of that i think of some other unusual and unwanted things. Tried to depict this from the model which is showing that targeting an unusual thing instead of the main course and not highlighting it as much as it needs.
3) As volatile as a Deo:- A Deo bottle is hard from outside and gas inside it is volatile. So enclosed from outside, hard, compact, simple from outside but very free from inside because inside the bottle the particle has the liberty to move also too, they are also highly complex. So I am so related to this metaphor because I am also like simple from outside but a lot goes into my mind every time, I am also a bit complex from the inside. A person in deep thoughts.
4) Pluto of the solar system:- as Pluto is lost from the solar system. I am a person which always be there in deep thoughts and mostly not related to the environment. The thoughts which are off track, no use for me in the situation. So many time I get lost in the new world leaving my circumstances and beyond its limit for no use.
5) Light of the moon:- Moon don’t have its own light enlight himself, the sun who provides it the shine. Same related to me, there are so many people supporting me, enlighting me with their light. I am that kind of person who needs guidance, wants somebody to guide me.
6) As sincere as AIB:- people do say me that I am too sincere about everything but the thing is I am not that sincere. I am too careless with myself and the surroundings. It totally depends on my mood, but I pretend to be serious because people want me to be serious. Its all about circumstances which changes you.
7) The eye of ‘The Flash’:- actually I want to indicate the flash character of D.C. His eyes spark like a thunder when he runs. I like me like that, I love speed in my life, I always try to be energetic, in the worse situation too. I like that joy of the thunder. It looks like you are releasing a wave of energy and positivity. Sometimes I also have the same feeling.
8) The air of the atmosphere:- As air is always busy with providing life to the organism. I also love being busy with stuff no matter what helping myself or other. But I love to be busy other than resting when too tired of working.
9) As wise as an owl:- for me, judgment is not only about profit or loss of me. Its more about nobody else gets hurt with that judgment. I think I am because I will never judge a person what he was, will see his present status. I also try to be good to everyone no matter what how they are to me. You never know they are right or you. I can be the one to be hated for something, this gives you a chance to improve.
10) As true as Ramayana:- Its a mythology. It can be true or not for somebody. As I am one never how true I am because for me speaking is much harder than a lie. But a lie comes up with more lies it’s still an easy path for me but for me, the truth is always at the top as I also believe in truth. The smaller curl shows the complexity of truth and the bigger curve shows the lie with further lies as branches the dot at the top shows the truth and the lower dot shows the lie.
Integrative Seminar (week 4)
Life changes as we change and we also change as life changes. This we all know that nothing is stable in today’s world.
We may have many changes in our life some may be positive and healthy changes, and some will be not. There will be effects also for those changes may be positive or negative. Everyone likes to be in a state of equilibrium. We don’t like unwanted variations. We are reading Metamorphosis by Franz Kafka to get a sense of how to abstractly define yourself. Here is the link if you want to know more about the book https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Metamorphosis.
It’s a short story about a person who unwantedly changes into an insect. And it’s about what problems he faces and what changes he had in his life. How his lifestyle changed, the family changed, and he himself got changed. It’s also about how creatively he defined himself and his life. One thing which I understood from that story till now is that life must go on facing the challenges and be accepting the changes. He suffered each and every hurdle he got till now. Its also shows us the fantastic use of metaphors.
